Focal point. Now here's a homework assignment to do on your own to improve on your focal point. Close your eyes for a second. Think about a word to rhyme. Boom! That's your focal point. Now, that same word that you want to use to rhyme with, figure out what you want to say before you get to that word. Now you have completed focal point. Continue to do this throughout the week. Find words that you want to rhyme with.
That's it. You don't have to rhyme them yet. Just find a word you want to rhyme with. Along with the word you want to rhyme with, flesh out one sentence before this word. This expands the focal point into a stream of consciousness for you to take it to the next level.
